The commencement of our collaborative efforts has set the stage for a remarkable journey toward enhancing tourism synergies, creating invaluable networks, establishing crucial partnerships, and advancing internationalization in the cross-border region encompassing the municipalities of Kolasin and Peja.

Our ‘Tourism for Future’ project kick-off meeting was graced by the presence of esteemed special guests who brought invaluable perspectives to our endeavor. Notable attendees included Mr. Mirzet Džogović, the Deputy Mayor of Peja Municipality, and Mr. Vuk Vuković, the Finance Secretary from Kolašin Municipality. Their participation underscored the significance of cross-border collaboration and the potential for institutional cooperation.

In addition, we were honored to host Anita Beriša, representing the Ministry of European Affairs-Montenegro, who shared insights regarding the alignment of the CBC program with EU standards. Ms. Fatmire Berisha, representing the Republic of Kosovo MAPL, emphasized the regional importance of our initiative. We also had the privilege of connecting online with Urška Peceny, Ph.D., the Chief Innovation Officer and Lead of the Tourism 4.0 Department at ARCTUR Slovenia. Her innovative vision provided a global perspective to our local efforts. Ms. Eleni Kyropoulou, representing the FameRoad Interreg project, offered insights into interregional collaboration, including networking with the EU Interreg Program Greece-Bulgaria CB Carbon Free and the Protocol for SMEs, as well as opportunities in Greenland for soft skills learning in agriculture.

With a shared commitment to sustainable tourism, our diverse group of stakeholders convened to discuss strategies that will not only benefit local communities but also align with EU Ecolabel standards. Our project envisions a future where tourism flourishes in harmony with nature, driving economic growth while preserving the environment.
